On November 23 in the Karakol city within the "Youth in Action" project a training course "Methods of advocacy through creativity" was held. During the four-day training participants developed advocacy campaigns using creative approach. Participants learned how to design their ideas through comics, street art installations, music, theater productions, stencils, slogans and puppet (theater dolls).
IDEA CA set out goal to educate young people to use creative methods to draw attention on certain problems. In the first part of the project "Youth in Action" participants received training in assessing the needs of the community after which social surveys were conducted in the Karakol city and in the Bokonbaevo village. Surveys were conducted in the framework of the research on identifying needs and analyze current problems of the local community. The results of the research were presented at public hearings with representatives of local authorities, residents, civil activists and youth.
The training is carried out within the project "Youth in Action" aimed at strengthening the responsibility of government officials to the needs of local communities through increasing the civic engagement of young people.
The project is implemented by the PF "International Educational Association of Debates in Central Asia" with the financial support of the Democratic Commission of the US Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic.
